Hurricane Harvey: Helping Those in Need

Dear friends,

So much love goes out to the families affected by Hurricane Harvey. We know the impact is felt well beyond Texas. People and pets need our help – and we’re responding.

So far:

  • We’ve donated money and supplies to local non-profits who are on the front lines of the rescue and relief efforts.
  • We’ve helped transport almost 40 pets from coastal areas to safety.
  • We’ve reached out to other companies to get donations and make connections that can make a difference. Companies like Tomlinson’s, with pet stores throughout central Texas, donated leashes to help those who are fostering displaced dogs. Rhythm Superfoods, another local Texas company, donated healthy snacks for volunteers.
  • We’ve encouraged our employees to take advantage of our paid Volunteer Time Off program to help the community. We’ll continue to reach out as much as we can.

We’re also donating a portion of all sales through Labor Day to two amazing non-profit organizations – Austin Pets Alive and Restoration Ranch. They lead with big hearts and we invite you to offer support.

Austin Pets Alive! (APA) is helping coastal shelters and animals in need. Since many shelters in affected areas are closed, pets are being transported to those that are open and staffed. APA finds loving foster homes, provides best-in-class medical care, and helps local as well as national organizations coordinate their relief efforts. APA has helped Austin build a no-kill community, saving over 98 percent of the animals that enter shelters in our home city.

This video highlights APA’s work and shows the outpouring of support from the community:

You can help by donating to APA. Text “Animals” to 707070 or visit their donation page.

Restoration Ranch is leading equine relief efforts in our area. The organization is currently working to rescue horses and provide for needs, which include shelter, medical care, food and stall bedding. Immediately, the team is asking for help to raise $4,000 so they can purchase a shipment of 462 bales of hay for the horses.

Restoration Ranch is an equine retreat in partnership with The Joyful Horse Project, whose mission is to rehab horses through holistic, mindful care and to serve the community. The ranch is a place where veterans, horses and the land each contribute to the health and well being of the others.

You can help by donating to Restoration Ranch.

Ours is a community of giving and love. We’re inspired by those that step up to help and grateful for each and every one of you.
